Work Place Bullying

Bullying is misuse of power or relationship that can either be ongoing or repeated in-order to cause physical or psychological harm. 30% of employee has directly being bulled at workplace according to the survey done by the Workplace bullying institute. As it is one of the important topic in organisation it is necessary to put extra attention. So every employee must work together in order to overcome bullying in organisation. Mental problem, stress and suicides are commonly linked with bullying.  


There are some possible reason that someone are to be bulled

  • Jealousness 
  • Have been bulled themselves
  • Want to feel better among themselves

The aim of workplace bullying is either to insult other employee or to harm them either physically or mentally. There are some of the impact of bullying may cause several impact on employee health ranges from headache, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, financial problem, lack of confident and self-esteem. Bullying not only create health problem but also in working environment. There are several impact of like low on commitment on work, reduce job satisfaction among the team member and employee, increment of absenteeism and poor work environment.

As bullying, is one of the serious issue in organisation, we can observe that less complains are filed against bulling. The main reason are the bullying cases are not dealt quickly. It might get six month to process the case that might turn the situation more worst. One the other hand, the victims may think that no one would believed that they are or being bullied. 

All of above, there may also be chance that people who file complaints to be victimise. This can be observed through harassment, not believing in their situation, teasing victim. This can be controlled by each an every member of the organisation ranging from top level to lower level. This can be done  by: 

  • Identifying the potential bullying
  • Commitment
  • Setting workplace standard
  • Design safe system of work 
  • Encourage open communication
  • Team building activities
  • Maintaining good relationship with employees. 

If we put all these activities in one frame we can provide bullying free work place where every employee can give their hundred percent without any stress or anxiety.
